MIL-PRF-3150E §4.5.5 - Storage Stability Testing
We perform testing by specification MIL-PRF-3150, which includes testing whether an oil’s physical properties remain stable after long-term exposure to three different temperatures. MIL-PRF-3150 - Lubricating Oil Specification covers the requirements for a lubricating oil used as a general purpose and ordinance lubricant. The storage stability test includes these storage periods:
3 months exposure at -40°C followed by 3 months at -18°C
3 months exposure at -18°C followed by 3 months at 25°C
3 months exposure at 25°C followed by 3 months at 54°C
We also perform storage stability testing by ASTM D4625, ASTM D5304, FTM 3465, FTM 3467, IP 378, MIL-PRF-7808L §4.4.4, MIL-PRF-7808L §4.4.5, MIL-PRF-83261 §4.4.3, and MIL-PRF-83363 §4.4.2. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
