ASTM D5623 - Sulfur Compounds in Light Petroleum Liquids by Gas Chromatography and Sulfur Selective Detection

We perform gasoline testing by ASTM D5623 to detect sulfur compounds, including hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan sulfur, using gas chromatography. This test method determines the colatile sulfur-containing compounds in light petroleum liquids. Many sulfur compounds are odorous, corrosive to equipment, and inhibit or destroy catalysts employed in down-stream processing.

We also perform sulfur analysis by ASTM D129ASTM D2622ASTM D3227ASTM D4294ASTM D5453ASTM D7039IP 61IP 342ISO 3012, and UOP 163. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
