IP 378 - Storage Stability
We perform diesel quality testing by IP 378 to evaluate the storage stability of diesel fuel over a period of time. The fuel is filtered and stored at an elevated temperature for a length of time (between 0 and 24 weeks). Afterwards, the fuel is analyzed for filterable and adherent insolubles. Oxidation and other degradative reactions that lead to sediment formation and fuel color changes are slightly accelerated by these test conditions.
We also perform storage stability testing by ASTM D4625, ASTM D5304, FTM 3465, FTM 3467, MIL-PRF-3150 §4.5.5, MIL-PRF-7808L §4.4.4, MIL-PRF-7808L §4.4.5, MIL-PRF-83261 §4.4.3, and MIL-PRF-83363 §4.4.2.
