IP 435 - Freeze Point
We perform jet fuel quality testing by IP 435 to find the freeze point or temperature below which solid hydrocarbon crystals form in aviation turbine fuels. These crystals can restrict the flow of fuel through the fuel system of the aircraft. The freezing point of the fuel must always be lower than the minimum operational fuel temperature.
We also perform freeze point testing by ASTM D1177, ASTM D2386, ASTM D5972, and IP 16. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
