MIL-PRF-83261 §4.4.3 - Grease Storage Stability
We perform lubricating grease testing by MIL-PRF-83261, which includes measuring the storage stability of grease over a six month period. The storage stability is evaluated after the six month storage period by comparing the unworked and worked penetration results before and after the storage period, using ASTM D217 - Cone Penetration. The lubricating grease described by MIL-PRF-83261 - Aircraft Grease Specification is used for aircraft accessories that operate at high speeds and under heavy loads.
We also perform storage stability testing by ASTM D4625, ASTM D5304, FTM 3465, FTM 3467, IP 378, MIL-PRF-3150 §4.5.5, MIL-PRF-7808L §4.4.4, MIL-PRF-7808L §4.4.5, and MIL-PRF-83363 §4.4.2. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
