ASTM D6375 – Evaporation Loss of Lubricating Oils by Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA) Noack Method
We perform lubricants testing by ASTM D6375 to determine the Noack evaporation loss of lubricating oils using a thermogravimetric analyzer test (TGA). Knowing a lubricant’s evaporation loss is important in equipment hot zones where evaporation may increase lubricant consumption. Some lubricant specifications city a maximum allowable evaporative loss.
We also perform evaporation loss testing by ASTM D2595, ASTM D972, and MIL-H-22072 §4.6.5. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
