ASTM D3339 – Acid Number of Petroleum Products by Semi-Micro Color Indicator Titration
We perform lubricants quality testing by ASTM D3339 to determine the acidic constituents in new or used petroleum products and lubricants. This method is especially useful when the sample amount available is too small to analyze by ASTM D974 - Acid/Base Number or ASTM D664 - Acid Number. This test can be used to monitor the relative oxidation of oils by measuring changes in the acid number at different times and under different test conditions.
We also perform acidity and acid number testing by ASTM D1613, ASTM D3242, ASTM D664, ASTM D7795, ASTM D847, ASTM D974, IP 139, IP 177, IP 354, ISO 6618, ISO 6619, and SAE ARP5088. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
