MIL-PRF-372E §4.3.2 - Aluminum, Steel, Copper Corrosion - Allowable Weight Change
We perform testing according to Military Specification MIL-PRF-372E; this test measures the corrosive effect of a weapons cleaning solvent on metal coupons. Three metals coupons of aluminum, steel, and copper alloy are prepared and weighed, then submerged in the sample product. After the test, the metal coupons are examined and weighed to measure any change in weight caused by corrosion.
We also perform copper corrosion testing by ASTM D1275, ASTM D130, ASTM D4048, DIN 51811, FTM 5305, IP 315, ISO 2160, ISO 5662, and MIL-PRF-46002 §4.2.3.3. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
