MIL-PRF-46002 §184.108.40.206 - Vapor Phase Copper Corrosion Test
We perform oil quality and conformance testing by Military Specification MIL-PRF-46002; this test is called the vapor phase copper protection test. Three copper test strips are prepared according to the specification requirements and exposed to the vapors of the oil sample under controlled test conditions. At the end of the test the copper strips are examined for signs of corrosion.
We also perform copper corrosion testing by ASTM D1275, ASTM D130, ASTM D4048, DIN 51811, FTM 5305, IP 315, ISO 2160, ISO 5662, and MIL-PRF-372E §4.3.2. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
