ASTM D1177 - Freezing Point of Aqueous Engine Coolants
We perform coolant quality and conformance testing by ASTM D1177 to determine the freezing point of aqueous engine coolants under controlled conditions. The freezing point of an engine coolant indicates the coolant freeze protection. The freezing point may also be used to determine the approximate glycol content in engine coolant, if the glycol type is known.
We also perform freeze point testing by ASTM D2386, ASTM D5972, IP 16, and IP 435. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
Sample quantity required: 100 ml
