Sampling and Shipping Kits
Most samples fall under IATA hazardous regulations. Shipping hazardous samples with improper packaging and without proper labels is against the law and can result in heavy penalties. However, it is not always feasible for an individual to research all of the applicable hazmat regulations or to obtain IATA certification. For all of these reasons, Alcor Petrolab provides a pre-paid sample shipping kit that meets the applicable regulations and restrictions for shipping samples of gasoline, ethanol, diesel, biodiesel, and jet fuel. (If you want to ship a sample of a different hazardous material, please contact us before requesting a sample shipping kit so that we can confirm that there are no additional requirements for shipping that specific material.)
The Alcor Petrolab sample shipping kit comes with a sample bottle suitable for any of the sample types listed above, and includes the packaging materials necessary to seal and protect the sample bottle to prevent leaks, spills, and breakage. The shipping kit also comes with clear, step-by-step instructions for packaging your sample properly. These instructions also include directions on how to ship the sample shipping kit back to Alcor Petrolab for testing. Please include a Chain of Custody form to inform the lab who results should be sent to and what testing is requested.
The sample shipping kit must be shipped UPS Ground. (Note that Alcor Petrolab does not provide sample shipping kits for air shipments.) Alcor Petrolab is located in Texas, so most customers in the continental United States should expect no more than a 4-5 day transit time for their sample. To see a map of the UPS service area and estimated shipping time from your location, go to the UPS ground service map and enter your local zip code. Please allow time to receive the sample shipping kit and for the sample to arrive when you request a sample shipping kit.
The Alcor Petrolab sample shipping kit is easy to use and is suitable for most sample shipping needs. If you would like to request a sample shipping kit today, please contact us by email or by phone at any Alcor Petrolab location.
